Good morning everyone.... as long I can't sleep I may as well start the thread. My sleep is so messed up!!

I couldn't walk down to the dining room for lunch yesterday. My tray was delivered to me. The pain is a little better right now. I hope I am able to walk down there today. I had to cancel my haircut and highlighting. I guess I will have to wait until next week.

I would like to get out and work on the puzzle at sometime today. I am getting tired of being a shut in!

My cleaning fairy is supposed to come this afternoon. They keep changing schedules around. I don't like having a different person every time. The lady that was here last week wants to keep coming here. It is only a couple blocks from her home. I hope they let her stay.

Wishing everyone a beautiful day!!

I will check in again later today.

Prayers for our special OFF Family and their families.

Much love  and many hugs  to all....connie d

Good Morning Connie and OFF,

I slept 10 hours last night. Given a lack of sleep the night before, and the sedation yesterday, I slept like a log.

Today is errands and the children's program at church tonight.

I'm going to finish Christmas shopping today. Plus, getting groceries for Christmas Eve dinner. I'm having the kids here then. Trent's favorite meal is turkey and mashed potatoes. His favorite pie is apple. So, I plan on making that. I'm also getting shrimp for Colleen and Izzy.

First thing I have to do is fix my laptop.

Connie, I hope today is better for you. I'm glad you have the your puzzle friends. Lincoln loves to work on puzzles with me. He's been able to do difficult ones since he was 3 years old.

Must scoot.

Love and Prayers,

Trish

Hi Trish....you are busy, busy as always!!

I hope you got the Laptop fixed. You Christmas eve meal sounds wonderful as always!!

I haven't done anything today. My cleaning Fairy was here. She just left. She sure is a hard worker!

I love puzzles, Gracie has been doing them for years too. I can't even find some of the pieces she can. Lincoln is a sharp little one too!!

My pain is back to about a 12 right now. I don't know what is going on. I still can't hardly walk tonight. Oh well...maybe tomorrow!!

Love you my friend...HUGS....connie d

Hello sistas!

Slow moving day around here today.  I was up at 5:30 a.m. with an upset tummy (too many snacks the day before), but then fell back asleep.  So it was quite a surprise when Christie came in around 10 a.m.  She couldn't believe we were still asleep!  LOL!  Like parents aren't people too.

Anyway, we let Butch sleep on while we visited.  He didn't wake up until after 11 a.m.!  I hope all that good sleep means he was healing.

I would like to get out and do a bit more shopping this afternoon if Butch feels up to it.  Right now he's laying kind of low, so it may not happen.  I would like to run over to that little town of Gruene and buy some of the items for those gift baskets for Mike's family.  It will be all picked over after this next weekend.  Going to Gruene isn't like going to a big crowded store.  It's just a collection of small shops.

So yesterday I played with my pecans and I made 3 different recipes: a pecan roll (sweet), a candied spicy pecan and a savory spicy pecan.  I guess I sampled a bit too much since I woke up with "the dumps" this morning.  Ugh.  I think it's the Eagle Brand that does it.  That pecan roll is easy and delicious, but I don't think I'm going to be able to indulge in it.

Maybelle has been SO BAD this week!  I swear, she is pushing it to the limits.  In addition to chewing up all of Butch's ear buds, she has been getting into everything imaginable.  Yesterday she got into a bag with some stocking stuffers.  She destroyed and ate the little M&M characters I had bought for the boys.  I know dogs aren't supposed to eat chocolate, but she did it.  She also got up on the table and tore into several of Butch's daily pill packets.  She didn't eat any of his medicine (thankfully!), but she sure did make a mess.  If there's a plastic bag, she assumes there is food in it!  I try to remember to leave all the chairs pushed all the way in at the table, but sometimes we forget and leave one out.  That's all it takes!  She gets up on the table and watch out!

I thought I was through with my Christmas shopping, but I thought of a few more things I needed this morning and back to Amazon I went.  I thought we had an old card table and 4 chairs out in the shed, but Chris and I looked for them this morning and they're not there.  Well, hell.  I've got to have 4 more seats since I'm having 12 for Christmas dinner.  I just ordered the new set from Amazon.  Why not?  I got free shipping and a guaranteed delivery date of Dec 23rd.  This way I don't have to take Butch into Wal Marts.  Trying so hard to keep him out of the big stores and healthy!

I would like to make my chocolate covered cherries today if we don't go shopping.  They need to sit about 2 weeks before they're ready to eat.  The fondant has to have time to melt down and get liquid-y and gooey good.  I took my amaretto cherries out of the liquor yesterday and put some sugar over them to sweeten them up a bit.  They sure do taste good!  I'm pretty optimistic about making this particular candy.  It might just be the bomb.

I hope everyone is feeling better today.  Connie, honey, I'm worried about you.  I was really hoping your new doctor and the new meds would turn things around for you.  I don't like to think of you being in so much pain. Trish, I guess you must be feeling better since you didn't post about any health issues today.  Eileen, today is your day off, right?  Cindy, are you surviving the remodel?  Carla, saw the pics on FB of your fun times with Vinnie and the other little ones.  Enjoy your holiday!  Judy, I am proud of you for conquering the new computer programs--don't think I ever got to mention that.  I wish you would win that big bingo!!!  Who am I missing?  We haven't heard from several of our regulars in awhile.

I'd better go check on my patient and see if he feels like going out today or not.  I need to know how to plan my day.

Love you all!

Hello Vickie....I can't eat but one chocolate covered cherry anymore. That was always my favorite Christmas treat. I guess it is a good thing that I can't handle the sugar anymore!! Your's sound so good...yum!!!

More shopping huh? Amazon will have empty shelves soon....just kidding!!!

My pain started Monday evening and is just not letting up. I have my Vicodin to take. I took one last night. Zero Zip nothing....didn't make any difference at all. They usually kick the pain out right away. My doctor is out of town this whole week. I will have to contact her on Monday. I am doing all I can to feel better. I will rest!! Thanks for caring!!

Love you much....HUGS....connie d

Vickie, your pecans and chocolate covered cherries sound yummy. I would love the spicy savory pecans ... but I just love nuts. I get these cocoa almonds at Sam's and if I didn't put them in a little container, I'd eat the whole jug.

I too am doing a lot of shopping on Amazon ... some for presents, some for me. I don't get any presents for me, just one from my brother. But I buy something there for my two grandnephews in Texas so I don't have to ship them. My niece-in-law even gave me the link to what to buy her son, so it was super easy. And then I found a bunch of stuff I want. Can't order until tomorrow when I get paid, so whether I actually get my stuff will wait until I pay bills.

Yes, I was off today, Vickie. Busy a bit in the afternoon, then decorating and overdid it a bit so I had to stop. Too much bending. Back hurts.

Hope Butch is OK!

Vickie:  Hi.  We ARE surviving our remodel!!  Everything from the current projects should be finished up by the 1st of January.  Next project is to have a deck built.  That will be a while out as we are trying to get over sticker shock from the first bid.  In the process of obtaining more bids.

Congratulations on the house.  Hope the repairs can be worked out satisfactorily and that the septic inspection goes OK.

Prayers continue for you and Butch.  Will you be going to MDA for the next round of chemo and for Butch to see the dr. there?

Hi Connie and my OFF family:

Hope you are feeling better as the day goes on. I tried to get some of my decorations up. Got the ceramic tree up  and took down some of my bobbleheads so I could put up the nativity today. But that was about it. It was a lot of work. I called a woman today about cleaning. The young woman I had before has a regular job and she is unavailable, which is too bad. So I called someone who had an ad in the paper. Turns out she was the woman I had used when I had my knee surgery who helped me get ready to move here. She was so good! The minute I heard her voice, I thought she sounded familiar. She's coming next Wednesday.

I have an appointment this afternoon with my pain doc. I really like him, he listens very well. Then I have to stop by my PCP's office to get my vicodin script (they can't call these in anymore, state law). Then I have to stop and get some stuff at the drugstore. Then home for decorating time and Christmas movies.

Hope everyone is well. Have a good day.
